Junior League of Collin County

Once the Junior League of Plano, my League changed its name to the Junior League of Collin County. The name change was a smoother transition than many thought it would be, given that we held the "Plano" name for more than three decades. This video helped to introduce our name change in the community and I was honored to provide the voice-over.

A Night at Neiman Marcus

This is what happens when a few friends come together for a great night at Neimans, celebrating CUSP. I keep this photo on my vanity mirror and it really brightens up the morning each day.

It is also a great reminder of all of the Dallas events to come, starting in a week. I LOVE fall because it is chock full of Ladies' Nights Outs, fashion shows, teas, galas and other fun events to keep a gal's calendar full. More to come!!

Halloween Happiness

A previous blog entry showed our little one modeling the police officer costume for Spirit Halloween's kid's costumes. He also posed for two other costumes. We just found out that he will be used on this "end cap" poster that will be hanging in the nationwide stores. The poster was a great surprise.
The day of his photo shoot, he was put into makeup and taken to the set.

FALL into holiday style

the preppy debutante rolled out the FALL catalog two weeks ago! I am VERY excited, because we have some wonderful goodies that will make great holiday gifts. Check out the new necklaces, wedding & birthday cake toppers, silhouette charms and other personalized items. We already have customers placing orders for the December holidays!

I just bought this silhouette for my "baby boy" charm bracelet. Silhouettes remind me of my Calvert School alma mater logo.

Ta-Ta Tory

I love Tory Burch. Shoes, tunics, totes, wallets...she has certainly created some classic designs.

But there comes a time to purge things from the closet, and last week, it included some Tory.
These shoes were the first to go.

I realized that I have never really worn this pair of shoes, even though they were purchased about four years ago!
It was surely a sign to finally let them go. While they are a cute pair of shoes, they were not very comfortable and I have decided to put comfort in front of cuteness this time.

The same goes for this tunic dress.

In this case, I just "had" to have it when I bought it. It fit well and was comfortable, but the color was not as flattering as I thought it would be when I purchased it.

Now I am on a roll to rid my closet of other clothes and purses. I recently re-organized my closet, but I still wanted to "tweak" a few things. If you need to consolidate your closet, finding a good book may help you to get organized.

Book ideas will help you to get started, or in my case, help polish off what I began a little while ago. Who knows what else I may find this week! My purge may be someone else's great find.

Lil' Policeman

Earlier this year, I blogged about C. Alexander's photo shoot for Spirit Halloween at their headquarters in New Jersey. They recently sent the final product for one of the costumes- The Lil' Policeman.
This was my favorite costume of the three he modeled for Spirit.
This is the shot that made the cover of the costume sold in stores. They simply worked some magic to add a police hat...
...and voila, this became the final product
You can find this costume (along with two more) at all of the Spirit Halloween stores in the U.S. & Canada. I hear there is another surprise in store for a certain little "duck." Stay tuned.
