RUN for the border!
My sister, LeAnita, is telling me to hurry up! We were on a mission and we were so close to achieving it.
Whew- after the "long" walk from the United States, we had finally reached the border
and crossed over to Mexico. Our goal in sight, we could literally taste it...
...at last! Mission accomplished, we finally made it to our destination- a killer margarita! Thank you Mexico!!

i'm so happy for you (maybe)
This novel by Lucinda Rosenfeld is an EXCELLENT read!
It explores the relationship between two best friends: one who works hard at everything & never seems to live the life she wants while the other seems to put forth very little effort and "falls" into a "perfect" lifestyle. While I would never feel this way about my own Bestie, I would certainly tell her to read it.
This is one book that was very hard for me to put down! If you are a woman with a Bestie- read it together ;)

HAPPY NEW YEAR san antonio-style
My mother's family is from Texas & Nashville, Tennessee. She grew up in San Antonio and I love going to the city that holds so much history for her! My sister-in-law married in San Antonio on New Year's Eve and we had a fantastic time watching her and her new husband exchange vows while ringing in a new decade.
Our hotel suite was on the Paseo Del Rio and we simply opened the door of our balcony to watch the boats traveling along the river.
Of course, we made our usual stop by the Alamo.
We had the chance to go to Chunky's Burgers , which was featured on the Travel Channel's Man vs. Food
The bride and groom had the "newlywed glow" during the reception...
...and right before midnight, we went out on the balcony over the Riverwalk to watch the fireworks over the city.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

home-rest of the holiday
DC will always be home for me and i love going back to see my family for visits. when we arrived, the snow had freshly *blown* through town, leaving two feet on the ground.
my brother's family introduced us to their latest addition-a new puppy.
our first morning home, we made a visit to the national geographic museum to see the terra cotta warrior exhibit of the guardians of China's first emperor. this is a *must-see* exhibit that runs through March 31, 2010.
for the holidays, i received the sweater that i really wanted this year!
the neighborhood was lit up with beautiful holiday lights
we wrapped up our visit with a victorious Cowboys game against the Redskins.
we left DC for Dallas & a drive to San Antonio for a New Year's Eve wedding.
New Year's photos coming soon-
